On October 7, Zonar introduced its 2020 Tablet, a product that aims to revolutionize mobile transportation technology. Zonar developed the technology on an open platform, so that fleets anywhere can integrate other systems with it and customize it to their specific needs.
The tablet will feature apps (both free and downloadable for a price) that provide handy tools for drivers and others in the transportation industry. Those apps include solutions and monitoring for fuel efficiency, electronic inspection, hours-of-service, navigation, real-time driver coaching, and more. The tablet will also feature a camera to document accidents and problems with loads.
The 2020 Tablet runs on Android technology. It features a 7″ widescreen touchscreen, video recording capability, Bluetooth, a built-in flashlight, and more.
Navigation for the tablet was developed by ALK Technologies, which includes features such as street-level maps, color-coded traffic alerts, over-the-air capabilities, and gas station locations. The dashboard for this program also includes an hours-of-service clock and miles per gallon reading.
